Three younger kids in Virginia have been hospitalized after consuming Goldfish crackers laced with THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that makes individuals excessive.
The kids, all 1-year-old, have been taken to the native hospital on March 2 due to their glassy, bloodshot eyes and torpid, uncoordinated conduct, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned on Fb.
All three kids had been at a licensed dwelling day care in a neighborhood subdivision. A deputy went to the day care and “collected goldfish crackers across the highchairs of the toddlers. These crackers have been despatched to the lab for testing and confirmed the presence of THC,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.
The day care surrendered its license to function and the proprietor, Rebecca Swanner, 60, was charged with 3 counts of cruelty and harm to kids, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. She surrendered April 14 and was launched on $2,000 unsecured bond.
Authorities didn’t say how the THC obtained into the crackers or give the situation of the hospitalized kids. Stafford County is about 40 miles south of Washington, DC.
