Marie-Philip Poulin emerges as extra time hero as Canada beats United States


ST. LOUIS — Marie-Philip Poulin scored at 3:31 of extra time to provide Canada a 3-2 victory over the USA on Friday night time in Sport 6 of the My Why Tour pre-Olympics girls’s hockey collection.

Canada has gained 4 of the six video games within the nine-game collection. On Wednesday within the first of two video games at Centene Group Ice Heart, Canada gained 2-1 in extra time — with Poulin scoring the winner.

Savannah Harmon tied it at 2 for the USA with 7:18 left in regulation.

Sarah Fillier and Emily Clark additionally scored for Canada, and Emerance Maschmeyer made 28 saves.

Kendall Coyne Schofield had a power-play purpose for the USA. Nicole Hensley stopped 28 photographs.

Sport 7 is Monday night time in St. Paul, Minnesota.
