NEW YORK — Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift acquired an honorary doctorate from New York College on Wednesday and informed graduates that all the pieces could be all proper, echoing the emotions of her hit single “Shake It Off.”
The 32-year-old urged college students to take advantage of their selections: “Life will be heavy — particularly if you happen to attempt to carry it all of sudden… all of the grudges, all of the updates in your ex…. You get to choose what your life has time and room for.”
“I’ve some excellent news: It’s very as much as you. I’ve some terrifying information: It’s very as much as you,” she added, wearing a purple gown and black mortarboard on the commencement ceremony in Yankee Stadium.
